I still think its stupid, but yes we should respect Bayern's wishes.

@ tracylynn - what channel broadcasts the Bayern games? I know we're in different countries, but I'm wondering if England gets the same or similar channel...

The channel that I watch Bayern on is called GOLTV. I think the channel is aimed at Spanish speakers since all the commercials are in Spanish. Also, I think the channel's base is in Florida.

I like the network because they show Bayern Munich all the time. I do know Bayern's next game is this Wednesday and they are airing it live. They even have a program called "Hallo Bundesliga" which they go over all the weeks games. You can see all the highlight of the games if you missed them.

Also, they are the only ones who have a program dedicated to American soccer. If anyone is a fan of American soccer then you can watch this program and learn about what is going on.

GOLTV also shows La Liga (they showed the Barcelona and Real Madrid game), Serie A, and even games from South America.

The only thing about this channel is that they can not show any CL games or Euro games. They can only show the league games and that's fine. I have two other football/soccer channels for that (FSC and Setanta Sports -which I think England has Setanta Sports).

This is the first year that GOLTV is showing the Bundesliga and I hope that they continued with it. If they decide to stop showing it then I would just die.

GOLTV is available on DirecTV. I'm not sure if DirecTV is available in England but if not then maybe there's something similiar to it.

As for YouTube...I think they went after it because the videos are available for free 24 hours, 7 days a week and it's a web site. There's no limit as to how long the video is available and I don't think they like that. As for sharing the videos via yousend and other uploading sites is that the videos are only available for so long. They are availble for 7 days and that's it or up to a maximum of 25 downloads. Once it has reached the limit then it's done, unless someone upload them again. Someone can upload the videos and not post the link but send the link to someone's email address therefore the video is not available to the public as a whole.

Boy, I need to stop talking. This is a big post.

Agree with why they went after it. Also, I think that if YouTube hadn't been bought by Google, it wouldn't have attracted so much attention from football clubs and such. yousend hasn't been targeted because it's an independent website, and not owned by any big name companies like Yahoo or Google.

I can inquire about GOLTV, but I've never heard of DirecTV so I doubt I can get that :/ However England does get Setanta so thats something at least.
England just doesn't care for the Bundesliga or the French League. Only Spain and Italy is covered :( not good.

Exactly this is why I will take off all the highlights, excluding compilation videos eg those ones with Kahn's saves etc... those are fine. I've had no contact from Bayern, but if I try to evade systems to still have highlights, one day I will get unfriendly contact from them. I don't want to make a disservice to the club I love. I know that their subscription service is VERY overpriced to most people. They seem to forget that people outside of Germany don't generally have similar wages... Instead of it being a fan service, it's more of a Bayern finance service...

It's the wrong ideology in my opinion as it might cost us fans, and indirectly have a negative effect on finance. They don't work with a fans-first ideology, similar to the way Google operates... they try their best to do whatever is in the visitor's interest. They operate a bit like Microsoft... I've yet to meet someone who hates Google, but I've met hundreds of people who hate Microsoft.

But, again, if they have an ideology in place, I will respect it no matter what my opinion is. I will try to contact them, perhaps I will set up an affiliate service.

DirecTV is a satellite service here in the US so I don't know if there's anything comparable to that in England.

I do know that FSC (Fox Soccer Channel) only cares about the EPL, Serie A (Italy), and La Liga (Spain). You can consider yourself lucky if they show any highlights of the Bundesliga or from the French league (I'm not even going to spell that name). Why do these networks think those are the only leagues that fans care about?

FSC has a show that is hosted by two British guys and one day they were talking about the Bundesliga, and they were saying that the problem with the Bundesliga is that it does not get the respect that it deserves and that is soooo true.

On the 15th of November, Setanta Sports is airing live the game between Germany and Cyprus. That's the good thing about that channel is that is shows those games plus the CL.

In Malta, you'll just get to see matches of the English league and the Italian league... and, wait for it... well, that's it. No other leagues. Anything weird? Yes! No Maltese league shown! Duh!

Of course, the Bundesliga, La Liga and the French league get as many matches aired as the Turkmenistan league...

Heh, same here. MLS playoffs are right now, and does Fox or ESPN show it? No. Like tracylynn said, only GOLTV shows some American soccer.

Well actually the german football stars are down to earth. They do not do any publicity stunts(exception is ballack:there are always some exceptions)So they are less popular
The bundesliga was equivalent to serie a pre2003.The bundesliga teams always dominated in CL.
99 bayern in final
00 bayer in final
01 bayern won cl
02 borussia in final(I hope the dates are correct)
But after the infuence of millionaries and money in football.the entire fabric of club football seems to be changed. Some italians now consider it(bundesliga) as equivalent to serie b

Disgusting isnt it
Just have hope.I popularized bayern among my pals and you can do that too :)

Lol I can try to popularise it among my friends but it won't work. They either like rugby or don't give a toss about any football played outside of England.

We get plenty of sports channels over here though, there's a satellite thing like DirecTV called Sky TV and has a bazillion Sky Sports channels, and then there's all the independent sports channels... Bundesliga can be found nowhere.
Serie A gets less coverage than La Liga though, believe it or not. La Liga is on at prime times sometimes too. We seem to love the spanish league here.
Bayern got a mention the other night on a sports program actually haha. They were talking about the Man United match on saturday and said something about how Fergie wouldn't care if it was "Barca or Bayern." I was shocked to say the least.

Englishmen are more orthodox than germans.
Take the WC as an example.
The germans hospitality was very nice towards every fan.
Not respecting this gesture the englishmen sung antinazi songs etc.
