Good thoughts! There are two things that Klinsmann can do; 1) he can put a formation based on the players that we currently have, 2) lay out his ideal formation and go for the players (is there money for that?)

We seem to agree on one thing, that we need a Defensive Midfielder who can move as a windshield wiper in front of the defense breaking the opponent's game: This is Gattuso and is almost a done deal. Next, a question: do we need a creative attacking midfielder on the center as we have the wings covered up already? Somebody to fill the gap left by Ballack. If we can afford it, that will be great! Diego is the ideal player. If we can not afford it, can we fill the gap then with Ze in front of Gatusso, or beside him but coming forward? But Ze can not play 3 games per week, he will be alternating, the choices are Ottl, Kroos, schweinsteiger and Borowski (although as some said of all these only Ottl seems to be a natural CMF, all the other ones have a better habitat on the wings) On the other hand if we get Gatusso we should not get Deco, instead we should go for somebody with more offensive skills for the same money.

Who knows, there are many ways to skin the cat and Klinsmann is a very creative coach, he might put two DMF's in front of Lucio and Demichelis so Lahm and Jansen/Lell can go forward with more freedom along the lines, then Ribery and schweinsteiger/ Altintop can make more diagonal runs in the last quarter of the field becoming more offensive on the backs of the strikers.

A hard to solve puzzle but for sure we can not stick with the same 11 formula of this season. I am wiling to see different formations adapted to each game and player availability, I would like to see Podolski and Klose taking turns and no one designated as a starter as the other is labeled sub, even Toni should go to the bench when the schedule dictates so. We need all our strikers fully tuned all season long.

If for what ever reason we dont get a playmaker
Do you think we can play with 3 strikers instead of two (4-3-1-2) with Podolski(or if podolski isnt good enough for the roll we can buy a first class striker) playing behind toni and klose to open up defences, i mean like you said we have 2 strong wings in Ribery and shweini, Lahm(if we mange to keep him) and Jensen can start some counter attacks with their speed and abilities, so we will always have the opposition midfield under pressure, and with Gatusso as DM, i think he will be able stop any counter attack against us.
Although we have to make sure that we have the right striker for that roll(playing behind Klose and toni).
and that Gatusso is the right man for the Formation.
If not then we do need to sign a playmaker

w/e you say if we need or dont need a playmaker but i say we dont klinsman plays the most with wings.. and we got good wings like Ribery Altintop borowski just fits perfectly in the role as attacking mid. cos he can swtich very fast to attack and defence and he can build up the game too;)

Borowski can play AM first game of the world cup where did he play, AM. Ballack was injured and he played in AM. He can do it, but he isn't a natural AM. Ballack will never come back so everyone stop dreaming. Get Deco Bayern we need him badly.

in has last game at barca he got subed out at the half
cause he was invisible on the ptch
maybe its just cause he had tension with barca

relax my friend don't judge wrong things.the most of player of the world can be invisible on the pitch with the players that barca has from the mid to front.maybe at barca he was not a big deal but at bayern can make a dif i think.he has skills thats for sure and he can play as a playmaker.we loose the talent the one behind the other at least get the old guy Laughing

true , decos skills are great his technique passes creativity he would fit great in our squad...as he won the CL with porto he played a very big role ..i think the reason why he isnt playing that good in barca is they change his role a bit 2 often ..with messi as a wing , iniesta as a CM and rarely plays his position as AM when 1 of those players gets injured deco has to replace him...

Hey guys joke of the day

Chelsea Inquire After Klinsmann
Chelsea have made an unofficial inquiry regarding the availability of incoming Bayern Munich boss Jurgen Klinsmann…

the west Londoners have rekindled their interest in Klinsmann, even going so far as to inspect the terms of his contract with Bayern to determine if there are any clauses or loopholes that can be exploited.

Yeah I saw that, I really hope that's just more made up nonsense because I am PISSED OFF about that. It's annoying to read all the Ribery rumors, but if this is true I really have trouble expressing the true scope of my anger about it. To have "no history" as the Man U and Liverpool fans so eloquently put it is one thing, to have no respect is another. Thankfully I've got a summer to cool off on this before I see another Chelsea fan...
