Most of the Bayern stars left the Allianz Arena in high spirits on Sunday evening following a gala 5-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund, but the final whistle heralded the start of a potentially busy couple of days for the club medical unit.

Oliver Kahn suffered a neck injury in the first half against BVB and was replaced by Michael Rensing at the break. The club captain is a doubt for Wednesday's Bundesliga trip to Frankfurt. "I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play on Wednesday,“ Uli Hoeneß reflected, although the FCB general manager insisted the keeper would be fit for Saturday's German Cup final in Berlin. "He'll definitely turn out,“ Hoeneß smiled.

Klose and Jansen doubtful

By contrast, Miroslav Klose may miss both the midweek Frankfurt clash and the Cup final. "He's doubtful for Wednesday and Saturday,“ Ottmar Hitzfeld reported. The Germany international missed the Bundesliga encounter with Dortmund due to a muscular problem.

A question-mark also hangs over Marcell Jansen at the present time. The left-back is struggling with an inflamed knee tendon following a knock collected in Getafe. "We don't yet know whether it'll be a long-term thing or whether we'll have it cleared up this week,“ Hitzfeld reported.

Ribéry on the mend

There was better news of Franck Ribéry. The Frenchman, out of action since the Getafe clash with a heavily bruised foot, could be fit for a return in Frankfurt. "He might have been able to make an appearance as a sub today, but I didn't want to take the risk,“ Hitzfeld commented after the final whistle against Dortmund, "but in all probability, he'll be playing again by Wednesday.“ Ribéry and the other players on the injury roster will continue to receive the best possible care from the medical unit up to that point.
