Remember the days when Bayern strikers were below the radar screen of superstars, but were nevertheless classy and effective (Elber, Paulo Sergio, Janker etc...) Man do I miss 2001.

Pizarro threatens to quit Bayern
Pizarro set to leave BayernBayern news and informationBayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro says he will leave the club unless offered a bumper new deal.

The Peru striker's contract expires in the summer and with Juventus sniffing about it will take a £50,000 per week, four-year package to keep him at Bayern.

"I would really like to stay here, but I am not forced to," he told Kicker magazine. "I have other options and there is interest from big clubs."

Juventus are reported to be interested, having already arranged for Bayern's Hasan Salihamidzic to move there on their promotion to Serie A in the summer, and Pizarro is keen to move to the land of his forefathers unless the reigning German champions ask him to stay - but "only on a four-year deal".

"This is my last contract so, of course, money plays a role," he continued. "I have also done a lot for this club."

The 28-year-old international Pizarro is currently not playing for Peru after a spat with coach Franco Navarro and is second-choice at fourth-placed Bayern behind Roy Makaay and Lukas Podolski but has still scored ten goals for his club this season.

However he was disciplined by the club this season after being convicted of drink-driving and losing his licence.

First of all, this report is from Eurosport. Secondly, I don't think Bayern is going to give him what he wants. What do you think?

Thing is, I read something about Juventus saying that they don't like his character (perhaps in reference to the drunk driving and the greediness he is now showing). It's hard to say if he's indeed staying or not.

It is being reported on Pizarro's website that he won't be with Bayern next season. Someone had mentioned it on another board, so I checked on it and that is being reported on his site.

I know this is not the right place but how much would Zidan cost from Mainz because he is playing very well and is a great player

schlaudraff pretty much, or hopefully even someone from the reserves may pop up in the near future. toni, podolski and makaay is sufficient in my opinion.
