| yeah but he CAN play as a striker, so if a fourth is needed due to injuries etc, he can potentially fill the spot without much problem. |

exactly...if we have 4 top strikers, they will start bitching about starting games...
Jan can fill multiple positions and that's very good... |

| Pizarro has been pretty good in the CL this year, but his Bundesliga form hasnt been that great. I think he's a good stricker, but at the same time, I think a Podolski/Makaay combination is better. Better still, if Toni comes to Bayern, we've got even more options, but thats a whole other issue. Personally, when he plays, I dont think he makes much of an impact, he was at his best scoring 2 goals against Arsenal, but now...who knows. All I can say is that my oppinion of him is 50/50, I dont mind if he stays, but if he leaves and we bring in quality players to replace him...its still ok. |

| i don't think he would initially... he's probably built for the premiership, he's somewhat like mido in playing style and build so he could do well... the prblem with chelsea is that he'd end up playing second fiddle in a year or two when someone like kalou developes more |

Chelsea ponder move for Bayern Munich striker Pizarro
Chelsea are pondering a move for Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro.
The exciting Peru international is off contract at Bayern in June and has declared he wants to leave the Bundesliga this summer.
The News of the World says Chelsea are keen on Pizarro, though they will face competition from Spanish and Italian clubs - including Juventus.
Are they really serious about it?...As Kev pointed out, Pizarro will do well in Premiership for sure...but Chelsea? |

| yeah its highly unlikely if you ask me. he will be on a free i suppose so if it were true then i'd say they would only be looking for a cheap back up striker (at most). |

Pizarro Sparking Villarreal Interest
The Peruvian goalgetter may be out of favour at Bayern Munich, but Spanish side Villarreal are interested in bringing the player to Spin to try his luck in La Liga…
Pizarro’s current contract with the Bavarians runs out at the end of the season and negotiations on an extension are stalled. The Peruvian international reportedly demanded €4 million a year, prompting chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to blow a fuse.
“Anyone wishing to earn as much as Shevchenko had better start playing like Shevchenko,” Rummenigge snapped. According to Marca (Score) the player is likely to call an end to his German adventure and has expressed a desire to play in Spain.
The interest in landing the Peruvian is based on a mooted move away by Diego Forlán, many pundits putting the ex-Man U man far from Villarreal. Despite being a cornerstone of the first eleven that Coach Manuel Pellegrini has been fielding he’s also the Submarine top scorer.
The German side have completed a totally forgettable season and moves are afoot to recover the lost prestige of a club that hoisted the last German CL trophy back in 2001 after Pellegrino missed his spot kick and Bayern beat Valencia in the Final.
Since then, the appearance of new strikers such as Lukas Podolski has left Pizarro and Paraguayan team-mate Roque Santa Cruz on the fringes of Bayern. Both are most probably heading elsewhere this summer and other bids are expected shortly. |

Spanish interest in Pizarro
Villarreal have confirmed an interest in signing Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro.
The Peruvian has been linked with a move away from Bayern in the summer, with Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven rumoured to be keen.
Reports have also claimed that Villarreal are looking to take Pizarro to La Liga at the end of the season.
Yellow Submarines president Fernando Roig would relish the chance to sign Pizarro, but accepts there is competition for the forward's signature.
"Pizarro is a big player and we know his characteristics," Roig told television station Canal 9.
"If it was up to us, he would now be in Villarreal, but it is complicated.
"The kid has enormous ability and finishes his deal in June, but there are many clubs interested in the player."

If it was down to me, I would keep him..
He has everything to be a great striker..and he is still the best striker in Bayern.
But the only problem is his attitude... |
