| Post subject: Lucio disqualified for 3 rounds |
|
|
| Following his red card in the first round against St. Pauli for (perhaps accidentally) elbowing an opponent, Lucio has subsequently been banned for 3 rounds in the German Cup. He will only be able to play in the eventual semifinal, if Bayern make it that far. Considering that Ismael is still out for some time, this means trouble for Bayern, as they would have to rely on (defensive midfielder) Demichelis to cover up at the back. |

Demichelis can do more than just fill the gap Lucio leaves. |

| But what if Demichelis or van Buyten are injured? Even Hargreaves would be a bit of a problem because we'd have to play Ottl in DM. |

It`s a problem that Lucio has been banned for 3 rounds in the German Cup..
but I think.. as long as he can play for us in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.. so, we don`t have to worry..
`cause these two championships are more important... . |

| Well, I think this is quite an important cup for us, because it's a cup we can very realistically win. I know it would be much better to win the Champions League, but our chance is very slim. |

yeah right..priority should be the cup and the league...we'll just try to get as far as possible in CL....that's all...
We don't have any more Central defenders..do we??...

The German Football Association (DFB) have reduced the suspension of Bayern Munich defender Lucio from three games to one following an appeal from his club.
The Brazilian defender was sent off in his side's 2-1 win over Saint Pauli in the first round of the DFB Pokal 10 days ago.
He was originally handed a ban for three matches, which would have ruled him out of appearing in the competition until the semi-final stage, should Bayern make it that far.
However, Bayern lodged an appeal, claiming the ban was too harsh and that Lucio had been punished for violent conduct when his elbow attack on Thomas Meggle was merely unsporting.
The DFB agreed Lucio had not actually acted violently and had just reacted to a challenge in an over-the-top manner, and consequently reduced the penalty.
He will now only be unavailable for Bayern's second-round tie with Kaiserslautern. |
