Here are few excerpts from the very first interview with Franck Ribery after signing with Bayern.

-Why did u choose Bayern?
FR: Bayern are ambitious, well-structured and have shown a lot of interest in me. I have lost a couple of finals (World cup, Coupe de France) and I came here to win some.

-Apart from Bayern, with whom you were in contact?
FR: Real Madrid wanted and I thought about joining them since Bayern won’t participate in the CL. But when a club like Bayern is interested in you, it’s really something. They had a bad season but this club is often the champion. The most important thing is to bounce back, the club has done great efforts in recruiting.

-Did u talk with sagnol about it?
FR: during the world cup, Willy told me a lot about Bayern, and all he said was good. When I told him I was joining Bayern, he told me that’s the best choice. It’s a serious club. I even talked about it with my partners in the national team and coach Raymond Domenech who told me: “Go for it, Bayern is a big club, you’ll enjoy yourself there!” The Bundesliga consists of many duels and one – on – one situations, I love that a lot.

-You’re the biggest signing in Bayern’s history, would this expose you to extra pressure?
FR: The most important thing is that Marseille got a nice sum of money. I don’t think a lot about the figures, I just want to give it all for Bayern as I did with Marseille. During the past three years, many things happened to me and I need to remain serious. I want to enjoy my time with this team, win titles , please the fans and repay the managers of this club the confidence they put in me.

And that`s because....???? 8-[

without our results last season, bayern would not have delved so deep into their pockets (meaning no toni and ribery- a frightening thought:D). before we were good but not great. now the word 'great' may be an understatement 8) , although this will only truly be proven once we re-enter the CL new season. for now, the uefa cup can merely be considered as practice, if u will, before we prove ourself against the OTHER big boys in europe.

Fair enough! :D

AWESOME!!! What a perfect way to end the last day of finals. We're back in business next season.

Don't get too carried away. In football, individuality is not always the key to success. You need good team spirit!!!! and don't think they the uefa cup is an easy competition. But what the heck, let's just celebrate now! lol

Don't be like that Mackoy, Hoeness wouldn't have brought these players to Bayern if he didnt think they would be 100% commited to Bayern for the duration of their contracts.

With these players i dont think we will continue to be a defensive team..i predict a more offensive style
