His name keeps showing up all over the place as Jurgen Klinsmann assistnt at Bayern Munich; they both have a history linked to Tottenham Hotspur, Ardiles as player for 10 seasons and then coach, Klinsmann as a player twice (the first coached briefly by Ardiles) and then he was approached to coach the team.
Ardiles has an extensive resume as a coach with jobs in England, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Croatia; so his knowledge of International Football will be highly useful behind Klinsmann who has similar experiences playing in diffrent countries throughout his career. Between the two of them and the languages that they speak or understand communication in today's globalized Football should no be an issue.
If Ardiles comes I clearly see Demichellis strenghtening his position and Sosa gaining more relevance if he keeps improving, and above all a possible signing of a big Argentinian name. |

| Uli said that the assistant will be an American and not Ardiles. |

An American? I can not think of any: Steve Sampson? I hope not.
An ex-player without coaching experience: Eric Wynalda? I don't think so.
The only one that can come to my mind is Thomas Dooley, who BTW was born in Germany played most of his career there for FC Hamburg, FC Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke, but his only experience as coach was 5 years ago for Saarbrücken and it did not go that well.
Where is that interview with Uli Hoeneß? |

He did say that? I thought he said it will be a foreigner and left it open at that. |

| It was on an interview. However, Uli might actually be referring to the fitness coach and not the assistant coach but who knows? We should find out soon enough. As for Ardiles, he even stated that he has not even had contact with Bayern or Klinsmann so why is his name popping up I don't know. |

tracylynn: At the end you were right! Martin Vazquez, a Mexican-American.
I knew him as a player (average but reliable) but I have only heard that he is been working as a trainer in the LA area after his retirement. Obviously, Klinsmann is looking for somebody who can work as a soldier implementing his ideas, rather than somebody with a stronger voice, like Klinsi is the motivator and the assistant the executioner. I hope it works. |
