english source:

Lucio and Hargreaves sidelined

A 19-strong Bayern party flew to Barcelona on Monday afternoon, minus flu victims Owen Hargreaves and Lucio, but including fit-again Ali Karimi. The fairy-tale continued for 17-year-old defender Mats Hummels, drafted into the senior ranks as centre-back cover at the beginning of term and part of the squad sceduled to land at around 7pm in Barcelona.

Magath supervised his men in a final training session at the Camp Nou shortly after their arrival. "We'll definitely learn a thing or two on Tuesday night," the coach smiled.

I've added a poll to this post. You can now vote for what you think the result will be after 90 minutes.

The formation I think he'll play:

------------------------- Kahn
Sagnol ----- Demichelis ----- Van Buyten ---- Lahm
Salihamidzic ---- Ottl ---- Karimi ---- Schweinsteiger
------------------------ Makaay ----- Podolski

The formation I'd like to see:

------------------------- Kahn
Sagnol ----- Demichelis ----- Van Buyten ---- Lahm
--------------------------- Karimi
Salihamidzic --------- Dos Santos ------- Schweinsteiger
-------------------- Makaay ----- Podolski

I was really hoping that Bayern would play a bit more attractive.. so i would really like them playing 3-5-2 or 4-3-3

3-5-2 is out of the question considering that we have the injuries to the central defenders. Perhaps 4-3-3 would be possible, with Santa Cruz behind the attackers.

mygOt, still awake?? Laughing

yes, its really bad that Ismael got injured but still i would like this formation:

---------------------------Kahn
---------Lucio----VanBuyten---Ismael
----Sagnol------------------------------Lahm
-----------------Demichelis/Hargreaves-------------
------Deisler------------------------Schweini
------------makaay--------Podolski

After Ballack left there is space for something new in midfield and in order to bring more attractive football i think its necessary to control the midfield better.. or maybe im just getting tired Confused

well i do know that Mats Hummels played in the german Liga Pokal against Schalke04.. he is a youth product (17 years old) and Magath seems give him a chance to prove himself..

I dont think he will play, i believe the central defense will be VanBuyten and Demichelis, but who know.. maybe he will get a chance

!!! GO BAYERN !!!

It's important to have a substitute. Van Buyten or Demichelis could get red carded or injured. I think he might give Hummels a run out near the end of the match. It would do really well for his experience playing against such a quality team as Barcelona. Not many 17 year olds are given such a chance.
