Geez. Rolling Eyes C'mon guys, get over the italian issue. It's old and it doesn't lead to any good discussions. Plus, it's a lame excuse as to why a player should not be on a team. Anyway, I don't freaking care where the player is from just as long as he can help the team.

Like the previous poster said, he's not coming to this team.

Its just no true. They like cheating they play unattractive, defensive football, their looks...

as much as I think Toni will score goals but hes too into hes looks and he falls to easily...

Bayern Munich Bid For Barzagli

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Bayern Munich are the favourites to sign Andrea Barzagli, after launching a significant bid for the Palermo defender.

Barzagli is regarded as one of the best central defenders in Serie A, and although he has struggled at times for his club this season, he was an absolute rock for his country in the Euro 2008 qualifying games against France, Ukraine, Georgia and Scotland at the end of last year.

The 26-year-old is expected to move to a bigger club at the end of the season, and both Juventus and Fiorentina are said to be interested in signing him.

However the Corriere says that Bayern Munich have now moved to the front of the queue after tabling a bid of €11.5m, which far outweighs what both Juve and the Viola are prepared to offer.

Bayern are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season, and heave been linked with a number of other Serie A stars in recent weeks, including Milan’s Gennaro Gattuso and Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

Barzagli has made 31 Serie A appearances for Palermo this term.

Wolves Join Race To Sign Barzagli
Wolfsburg are in the running to sign Palermo captain Andrea Barzagli, the Rosanero’s transfer chief has confirmed.

Barzagli is widely regarded as one of the top centre backs in Italy, and although he has struggled at times for Palermo this term, he was superb for the Azzurri in the Euro 2008 qualifying games against France, Ukraine, Georgia and Scotland at the end of last year.

Earlier this week Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini confirmed that the 26-year-old will be departing Sicily in the summer, and until now it was believed that Fiorentina and Bayern Munich were the main two teams fighting it out for his signature, with the former being the favourites.

However Palermo’s transfer chief Rino Foschi has revealed that Wolfsburg are also in the running.

"I thought the [Fiorentina] solution was more pleasing to him, but instead wants to look around,” explained Foschi.

“Germany might be well be the right solution for him, not only Bayern want him but also Wolfsburg.”

Barzagli could join his Palermo team-mate Cristian Zaccardo with the Wolves, and Foschi has conformed reports from earlier today that the right back is close to signing for them.

"All that is lacking now is an agreement between the player [Zaccardo] and Wolfsburg but the road has already been mapped out,” he concluded.

I agree. We have Van Buyten, Lucio, Demichelus and Breno.

Save the money for other player.
