Ottmar Hitzfeld confirmed interest in bringing back Ze Roberto and said that he is an alternative that Bayern would consider.
The news confirms yet again how desperate we are to find a player who can actually use his left foot on the flank. It's agonizing to watch our wingers unable to cross the ball unless they switch to their right foot time and time and time again. |

yes i agree this is a very unlikely transfer but i would like to see him here honestly. he's creative, a good dribbler, crosser and can certainly use his left foot to do this. i looked him up on wikipedia after seeing this thread to find out exactly how old he is now and found this quote from the page interesting.
"Following the announcement that he would not return to Bayern Munich, he publicly criticized the club's style of play and predicted struggles if changes were not made."
this clearly turned out to be true...
he is old and as said in the quote he would not return to bayern but he is still a worthy player for the new bayern i think and he does keep in mind his contract does run out at the end of the season so if he goes anywhere then it will be on a free so that can be taken into account. |

The chances that Ze Roberto joins Bayern next season are increasing. In an interview with SPORT1 he states that his Berator is underway to Munich. This is quite amazing, since Bayern already signed Altintop and Sosa both able to play on the side of the pitch. If this is true, the board is trying to add some experience in the team.

Dortmund keen to lure Ze Roberto back
Wed 18 Apr, 12:15 PM
Bundesliga strugglers Borussia Dortmund will attempt to lure Ze Roberto back to Germany to boost their squad for next season. The former Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich winger has been with Brazilian side FC Santos for the past year, but would be available on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
Dortmund, who are still fighting against relegation with five games of the season remaining, are looking to improve their side for next season and the Brazilian international is one of their top targets.
"We have enquired about whether and with what conditions a transfer for Ze Roberto would become possible," said Borussia president Reinhard Rauball.
The 32-year-old enjoyed four successful years with Bayern after rising to prominence in a Leverkusen side that finished as runners-up in the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League in 2002.
And earlier this year he admitted he would like to try his luck in the Bundesliga again before ending his career.
"I would happily return to Germany," he said.
Dortmund would face competition for his services, and Rauball told Sport Bild magazine the club's chances of signing Ze Roberto are "not so high".

not a bad option at all. Ze would be a fine addition since he'll add strength in depth to the team. We badly need alternatives in midfield in case of injuries. Ze can also fill two positions in the midfield so versatility is a plus.
With Sosa, Schweini and probably Ze, added to Sagnol, Lahm and Altintop, the flanks would be alright. Still waiting to see who they are gonna bring in the middle, we need at least one more quality addition there. I mean we've always had Ze, but on the european stage, we need a bit more. |

I thought Ze would be our front-runner on the left attack midfield. wouldn't he? He can use his left foot anyway. |

| whether he was a front-runner or he rotated with Schweini, the important thing is that we have class in depth in his position. Hitzfeld will decide who's on top form and let him play. |

| just thought i'd add that ze played excellently as brazil's holding center midfielder during the world cup, definitely one of their best players for the tournament. so he can fill more than the left attacking midfield if need be. |
