Post subject: Magath vs. Hitzfeld Reply with quote

Well there was a lot of hype when Bayern sacked Magath to give the job to Hitzfeld, an almost "our savior has come" cry was unanimously heard. My impression is that the team has not really performed any better with Hitzfeld than with Magath (i have not look at the numbers but I think it is even possible that the team did better with Magath). I always felt the problem was not the coach. Any thoughts???

Look at what happend this season very closely my friend. Atleast with Ottmar Bayern reached the quater finals beaten Real and Schalke 04 with a half destroyed team. Magath screwed us this season.

IMO trainers this season are better than managers and players.I'm a little worried about Hitzfeld next season。

Remember that Magath won 0-2 at San Siro against Inter and qualified Bayern to the first knock-out stage in CL without a losing a game.. and if you look in Bundesliga its not a big difference between the job they did.. Bayern is still 4th and out of CL... but still i voted for Hitzfeld

I think Hitzfeld didn't' perform wonders with the team, when compared to Magath..
In fact I am inclined to believe that Magath would have done a better job with this team as he knows more about them...He would have managed some more wins in the Bundesliga..and thus a n.o2 or n.o3 spot..
I honestly think he would have done the same thing in CL too....
The reason for our problems lies with the players..

Still I voted for Hitzfeld because of the future...we needed a change and that's what he brought to the team..

I voted for Hitzfeld for a few reasons. One being that he brought a new life to this team, or at least to some players. He was able to help restore some confidence in players, such as Podolski, that had taken a big hit under Magath.

Secondly, though it seems like the team has gone downhill since he took over, one needs to remember that this is not the team that Hitzfeld created and was in place when he left. This is Magath's team. Hitzfeld could only do so much with a team full of players who don't care and have that lazy attitude.

Thirdly, Hitzfeld is not afraid to say what he feels. He's not going to be all soft and sugar coat things, which is what Magath had a tendency to do. I think that relax attitude carried over to the players and some can not get out of it.

Finally, he's the future and he has a strong desire to see this team win and be the champions that they deserved to be. I had a feeling that Magath did not feel that way anymore.
